Joomla! JomSocial Plugin

I developed “Video Channel for JomSocial,” a Joomla plugin designed to enhance the JomSocial experience by allowing users to showcase their YouTube or Vimeo videos on their JomSocial profile pages. This plugin can grab videos from YouTube Playlists, YouTube Channels, Vimeo Channels, Vimeo Groups, and individual Vimeo user accounts, making it a versatile tool for video integration.

CODEBOXR

My client for this project was CODEBOXR, a company that customizes WordPress, Joomla, and other open-source CMS platforms, and builds both free and professional extensions/addons.

My key responsibilities in the Video Channel for JomSocial project included:

  • Front-End Design: I designed the front end to show videos as thumbnails or a slideable playlist, with custom thumbnail size and custom background options.
  • Backend Development: I developed backend settings for high customization, including setting visible items limit of slider item, simple iframe or modal popup-based video display, transition style from a list of transition effects, and controllable animation mode.
  • Dashboard Development: I worked on dashboard development for basic configuration, video display admin setting, and advanced styling options.

In this project, I applied my skills in the Joomla CMS framework, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and JomSocial (Joomla! Social Network Extension). These technologies enabled me to create a dynamic and user-friendly video channel plugin for JomSocial.
