WordPress Plugin

I developed the “RSS Feed Manager for Custom Post Types,” a WordPress plugin that offers custom control to show custom post types in RSS feeds. By default, WordPress only shows posts in/via RSS feed and doesn’t display pages or any other custom post types. My plugin addresses this limitation, providing more flexibility for content creators.

My client for this project was CODEBOXR, a company that specializes in customizing WordPress, Joomla, and other open-source CMS platforms, and builds both free and professional extensions/addons.

My key responsibilities in the RSS Feed Manager for Custom Post Types project included:

  • Custom Post Taxonomies Integration: I integrated custom post taxonomies with the general post type to allow for greater customization and control.
  • Backend Options Development: I developed backend options to enable/disable posts, pages, products, blogs, and portfolios in the RSS feed.
  • Plugin Deletion Data Removal Feature: I added a feature that allows for the removal of data at the plugin’s deletion, ensuring data integrity and security.

In this project, I applied my skills in the WordPress Plugin API, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. These technologies were key in creating a versatile and user-friendly plugin for WordPress content management.
