I developed “Fixed Vertical Live Search with Custom Post-Type Filter,” a WordPress plugin that enhances the search experience on WordPress sites. This plugin allows for a live search in a fixed vertical position on the site, with the added capability to filter search results for both built-in and custom post types.

My client for this project was CODEBOXR, a company that specializes in customizing WordPress, Joomla, and other open-source CMS platforms, and builds both free and professional extensions/addons.

My responsibilities in the Fixed Vertical Live Search project included:

  • Front-End Design: I designed the Fixed Vertical Search Bar layout to provide an accessible and user-friendly search interface.
  • WP Back-End Styling Options Development: I developed WP back-end styling options including the search button’s vertical position (using px or %), custom color picker for button color, button hover color, and suggest list and suggest list hover color.
  • Mobile Site Compatibility: I ensured that the plugin is compatible with mobile sites, allowing for horizontal or vertical position adjustments.

In this project, I applied my expertise in the WordPress Plugin API, PHP 5.2, MySQL, and JavaScript. These technologies were key in creating a dynamic and efficient search plugin for WordPress websites.
