I developed the “Next Previous Article” WordPress plugin to enhance user experience by providing easy navigation between pages. This plugin allows readers to move to the next or previous articles effortlessly with a single button click, simplifying the browsing experience on WordPress sites.

My client for this project was CODEBOXR, a company specializing in customizing WordPress, Joomla, and other open-source CMS platforms, and building both free and professional extensions/addons.

My responsibilities in the Next Previous Article project included:

  • Front-End Design: I designed and positioned the Next/Previous button with pixel-perfect accuracy, ensuring it integrated seamlessly into various WordPress themes.
  • Integration of Archive View: I integrated an archive view for categories, tags, authors, dates, etc., enhancing the navigational experience.
  • WordPress Backend Options Development: I developed a WordPress backend option, enabling customizations like image input (builtin icons/custom images), position from the top (percentage, pixel), and settings for visibility on home pages, category views, tag views, author views, and date views. I also added a feature to navigate by category.

In this project, I applied my expertise in the WordPress Plugin API, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. These technologies were key in creating a user-friendly and efficient navigation plugin for WordPress websites.
