The Standalone Like System for Joomla was an exciting project I took on, focusing on creating a versatile and user-friendly Like Button extension for Joomla websites. This extension is designed as a 3-in-1 bundle (Component, Plugin, and Module) that allows users to easily implement a custom Like or Vote button on their content.

CODEBOXR

I worked on this project for CODEBOXR, a company specializing in customizing WordPress, Joomla, and other open-source CMS platforms, as well as building free and professional extensions/add-ons.

My responsibilities in the Standalone Like System project were comprehensive:

  • Front-End Design: I developed various features for the front end, including a Turn On/Off Detail Count, HTML Button View in Normal and Compact modes, 7 choosable colors for the button, and 6 types of prebuilt image buttons. I also enabled the use of custom images for the button.
  • Admin Back-End Settings Development: I developed numerous settings options for the admin backend, such as jQuery Loading toggle, enabling/disabling for Com_Content, K2, and Virtuemart, button positioning, user access control for liking (everyone or only logged-in users), button type selection, and menu filter settings.

In this project, I applied my expertise in Joomla CMS framework, MVC architecture, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript, crafting a flexible and dynamic Joomla extension.
